Welcome to Yashab!

Welcome to the July issue of Yashab! As always,  I am deeply humbled by the opportunity to publish this much-needed resource.  This month, we focus on addictions...of all kinds. Statistics say that today we live in the most addicted society ever, of all time!

You don't have to look too hard to find someone battling inner demons of drug and alcohol addiction, food addiction or pornography addiction. These internal personal struggles are taking their toll on us all.  Our churches, hospitals, and prisons alike are bursting at the seams, as the effects of the unsanctified culture plow full steam ahead into its "do whatever makes you feel good" abyss, leaving thousands in its wake.

Here at Yashab, it is not our goal to condemn but to offer solutions...that work. With that in mind, it is my pleasure to introduce our readership to an amazing program out of Elkhart, Indiana called Servants of the Streets (SOS). Apostle Mario & Pastor Regina Villela have been doing marvelous work for several decades, with great result. Learn more about their efforts in "A Snake Bitten Society".

Also, contributors Ashlee V. Grant and Preslin Issac offer a transparent look into their own addiction struggles and relay how they overcame.  Also in this issue, you will find a personal story of triumph over tragedy and a new take on self-love in the Love Yourself column written by Pastor Sophia Bethel Gibson.

It is my prayer that you will read something within the pages of this magazine that will forever alter your course.  Shalom!

Yours in Christ,

Shelley
